Famously restored by conservationist Griff Rhys Jones and family, and the subject of the BBC TV series 'A Pembrokeshire Farm'. Uchaf is a beautifully restored Georgian farmhouse on the Pembrokeshire coast.  Expect a genuinely stylish, quality interior with real attention to detail. An authentic restoration was undertaken with sustainability in mind. Enjoy seventy acres of farmland with fine sea views, your own little woodland, and a children's swing and slide set down your track.  Hike over Garn Fawr to the famous lighthouse (2.5 miles by road) or 9 minutes drive (3 miles) to wonderful Abermawr beach. Fly fishing for rainbow trout in two ponds available on site. Catch & release, arrange with estate manager after booking. Trehilyn Uchaf is one of two sister cottages which, when combined, are known as Ffermdy Trehilyn. If you’re planning a larger stay, you can book it together with Trehilyn Isaf, and the two link to form one spacious combined house.

In Detail

Centrally heated throughout via underfloor heating and virtually carbon-neutral heating via wood pellets. This house is semi-detached with Trehilyn Isaf, and if they are taken together an internal door between the kitchens can be opened to use them as one house. Ground Floor:

  • Cegin Fach - small contemporary kitchen with Bosch dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer (large fridge with a smaller freezer below).
  • Cegin Fawr - traditional dining room with antique furnishings
  • Parlour sitting room with open log fire, Small digital TV with integrated DVD player (not a smart TV)
  • Single bedroom on the ground floor also doubles as a study.
  • Small shower room and toilet on the ground floor.
Upstairs:
  • Spacious master bedroom with double bed and attractive coffered ceiling.
  • Twin bedroom with Victorian grate.
  • Large family bathroom (converted from what was a double bedroom). Bath.
  • Small utility area with washing machine and dryer to first floor.
Outside:
  • Small front garden
  • Large rear garden shared with Trehilyn Isaf
  • 70 acres of farmland (keep dogs on lead around sheep). Nature walk (enclosed from livestock) along a stream to the far end of the farm and a ruined cottage.

We really enjoyed our stay at Trehilyn Uchaf. The house is well equipped, beautifully decorated and full of gorgeous touches. It's an extra treat to spend time with the artwork, thank you. Absolutely perfect. This house has so much heart and soul, we really enjoyed staying here. Love the grounds, the honesty shop. Walked some of the Pembrokeshire Coastal path with our children and found some fantastic beaches. Amazing fish and chips in Porth Gain. Above all, it is just so beautiful here.
